Osteopathy

Osteopathic treatment can help reduce the level of your pain and discomfort by easing muscle tension, relieving strain, improving circulation and increasing mobility. Many of our patients find significant relief within about 3 treatments. It is very much a ‘hands on’ form of therapy and distinguished by the high palpatory skill required to assess and treat. Many of our patients continue treatment on a periodic basis because it leaves them feeling great and better able to remain pain free and stay active.

What is Osteopathy

Osteopathy is an established system of manual therapy recognized by the British Medical Association. Osteopaths use many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. They are experts in detecting and treating problems with the musculoskeletal system, such as tense muscles, strained ligaments, trapped nerves and stiff joints. These problems are often related to poor posture, stress, the workplace, sports injuries and ‘wear and tear’ related to ‘old’ age.

  • Massage and stretching to promote muscle relaxation
  • Joint manipulation & moblisation to restore mobility
  • Cranial osteopathy for the very young and for stress related conditions such as ‘headaches’
